Data from the California Highway Patrol reports location in a number of
different way. Here data is examined by
1.
Type
of
Highway:
State
and
Federal
highways
(numbered
highway,
e.g.
I5,)
or
other kind of roads (county highways, rural roads and city
streets.)
2. Incorporated and Unincorporated
Areas: All cities are incorporated and can be considered 'urban'
all other areas are unincorporated and can be considered 'rural'.
These areas are examined here in combination.
There is a large variation
in
where deaths occur when examined by these factors at the county level.
This data may be
useful for
determining location of DUI Checkpoints!
