Traffic Alcohol Fatality Trends
and DUI Arrests
in California Years 1991-2009

Findings:

In 2009 the number of Alcohol Related Deaths went down for the second year in a row.

In 1998 there were 176 DUI Arrests Per Alcohol Death in 2009 there were only 166 DUI Arrests Per Alcohol Death.

The number of alcohol related deaths did not go down as fast non-alcohol related crashes :

+ The DUI Arrest per Alcohol related Death has been going up...as has DUI arrest per NON-Alcohol related Death.

+The Number DUI Arrest have been going up although they took a slight dip in 2009.

+ Alcohol related deaths are not falling as fast NON-alcohol related deaths.
